Yum Yum, Sticky Buns!

I am kicking myself that I didn't take a picture, and they are all gone already, but today I made sticky buns!

We had the missionaries over a few weeks ago, and one of them mentioned how he loves sticky buns. They have been on my mind ever since, and I have wanted to make some. Well, today was conference so we were at home relaxing and watching the speakers on our local tv, and I decided to make some.

I have a recipe for pecan maple sticky buns. Let me just say, "WOW!" Amazing! They are pretty easy. You don't even have to knead. Mix the stuff, let rise. Roll out, sprinkle brown sugar goodness, cut, and let rise again. Bake, flip out of pan, and bask in the carmelly-mapeley heaven! I'll post the recipe on my blog later, and I'll have to make them again so I can post a picture.

What a terrific way to end our Sunday lunch of baked pork chops, and mashed potatoes with gravy. I made a dozen, 3 went to a friends family (gotta share the good stuff....) and the rest are gone.... They didn't last until dinner even. Yum Yum Yum.... Sticky Buns!

Mark thinks it is great, I have been craving baked goods lately. Yesterday I made Taco Soup, which I also should post the recipe for as it's really good, and what do you have with taco soup? Cornmeal muffins of course! And only from scratch will do.

Sounds so good--ALL OF IT does!

I take it you aren't doing your diet anymore?? I would say if you are, you are a woman of willpower to make all this tasty stuff and not eat it!

Those sound good. I have been on a baking kick lately so I might just have to try these. Homemade stuff is ALWAYS so much better.

Yeah, the diet kind of went out the window when the base had a huge inspection that lasted for 2+ weeks and Mark's work schedule was horrendous. I either shop or eat when stressed/depressed and we had no money for extra spending, so I ate instead. Sad I know, but I am finding it really hard to get back on, probably because I am still stressed... Darn it, chocolate just tastes so good.....

Melinda called me Saturday morning asking for whatever recipe I use for making cinnamon rolls, which got me thinking that that would taste really yummy! Now you have a post up about sticky buns... Is someone trying to tell me something? I think I need to make some cinnamon pull-aparts! And that will definitely go up on our food blog, because that's a Hall of Traditions recipe!

I looked at the recipes, they look great! You need to make more and take pictures. I'll have to try those sticky buns. I made muffins this morning, and pancakes yesterday. Hooray for breakfast breads!

That sounds so delightful. I am in the stage where any description of yummy food makes me want to eat it right away. I should get that recipe from you.

For some reason, cooking yummy goodies and watching my family scarf them down makes me feel really good about myself. Especially when the goodies don't last more than 2 hours and they're gone! My house may not be spotless, but at least my kitchen always has something yummy in it!

I've decided I should have been born polynesian because they love their women "healthy". I just have never been one to cook and bake alot and then pass it up, to heck with the diet!
