As Promised...

This morning's weigh-in gave me the grand total of 13 pounds! Considering the full amount I need to lose to be at my "ideal" weight (yeah right, I've had three kids.) it's a drop in the bucket, but I am immensely proud of it regardless. People have been noticing, telling Mark how good I look. A few months ago at Walmart, we passed a group of Hispanics in the produce section. They were looking at us and pointing, especially at me. Mark told me later he had heard one of the saying "Muchos Grande!" and they all laughted. He thought they were referring to the size of our family. They were talking about size alright. That was a definite low for me, so all these compliments really feel good. I am so grateful for good friends who have loved me no matter what size I am, and who are so supportive of my efforts to be healthier!

Congratulations on your loss! (That sounds weird...) I know that you already know this, but it's so much easier for people to judge each other than to look closely at their own problems. It's a basic flaw in human nature that we strive to overcome. So I hope that you can keep thoughts of your own progress, the compliments of others, and the support of your family in the front of your mind, instead of the hurtful comments from those who don't even know you :)

I remember you telling me about that event. I hurt for you then, and I am glad for you now. I'm so proud of you for continuing to stick to your plan to become more fit and healthy. Love you!

That's great about your weight loss! Don't listen to those shallow people. Please tell us what you're doing to lose the weight - we need it down this way!
