A-ha, found one!

Melinda asked me to post one of my cakes. I have lost all the recent pictures, but this is the first wedding cake I ever did outside of class. I had this one and matching sheet cakes too. I do birthdays and whatever days, but my favorite is wedding cakes. I did one birthday cake where I took the image from the invitation, blew it up mirror image, transfered it to the cake. I matched the colors pretty well, and voila! Tinkerbell on a birthday cake, complete with sparkly wings, courtesy of edible glitter. I really enjoy covering my kitchen with powdered sugar and frosting, and have missed it while my wrist has been healing from surgery. Carpal tunnel really limits what you can do with frosting.... Janelle's wedding cake was gorgeous, poinsetta's and daisies piled on top and a big cascade of the flowers swooping down and across one side... one of the many pictures I have lost... I gave Marie a basic set for Christmas, she is very excited too. If you can't tell from my post, I love doing cakes! (now, if only I didn't have to charge for them.)

That is beautiful! I'll have to keep you in mind in about 20 years when Maddi gets married :)

What a great talent to have. The cake is beautiful. I too would love to see more of what you do. Good luck with the business side of things...it is definitely a hard thing to do, but your skills are worth it.

Thanks for posting it!! Can you mail me an amazing cake like that for Elizabeth's upcoming blessing/birth/homecoming/just for fun? And you better have charged at least $150 for that gorgeous cake.

Nope, this was done for a good friend who paid for the supplies and threw in a little for my time. I have done most of the baby shower ones here too, again, usually just for the supplies. I do that so I can get photos, which I stupidly erased from the computer, of course.... I am scrapbooking the photo's I do have as a portfolio of sorts. And my friend has agreed to help eat the cakes I make for the portfolio.
